What is Endocrinology?
Endocrinology is a branch of medicine dealing with hormones and the glands that make them. Hormones regulate many bodily functions such as metabolism, reproduction, growth and development, and much more.
Endocrinologists first complete training in internal medicine, and are then specially trained to diagnose and treat hormone disorders. Patients with diabetes mellitus and thyroid disorders are commonly treated by endocrinologists.
At AHC, Dr. Cobos Salinas diagnoses and treats disorders of the endocrine system such as Dercum’s disease, lipedema, diabetes mellitus, and disorders of the thyroid, metabolism, fat, pituitary gland and sex hormones.
